Nabeel, a fan of tight booming bad mamma jamma bass had finally gotten his act together and rustled up some
high quality car audio components. So being Mr DIY it was time for operation upgrade. The situation, installing
Audiobahn seperates, and two Crunch amps (4ch and 2ch).
First we started taking apart the door panels, and hooking up the woofers. That was simple enough. Then after a lot of
back twisting work Nabeel was eventually able to punch through the firewall and get the power cable into the engine
compartment. Power cabling was fished through the carpet on the right, while audio cables ran along the left to the back.
The next big issue was figuring out front tweeters. The stock tweeters are pretty much one unit, speaker and enclosure. We had
to disect the unit and shred apart the tweeters to form a new enclosure for the Tweeters. Otherwise the alternative was mounting
the tweets in a place that looked fairly ugly.
Back speakers went fairly easily. Fished the wiring under the modling with no complications. However the next issue was getting to
the deck. The console of the Eclipse proved to be a formidable opponent. There was no obvious way to get to the deck to pull it out
and get access to the wiring.
After struggling for awhile Nabeel threw in the towel and admitted defeat, making plans to get a deck with a standard RCA jack pre-out,
and getting Circuit City to handle it...
