Well the pictures pretty much describe what we did. We journeyed over to Marine World
in Vallejo California. Juliana was able to get some really cheap tickets in advance
through some UC Davis promotion so we decided to spend the day there.
I fully admit I'm a wimp. I used to have the nerve to take on any roller coster or extreme
ride, but in my old age the amount of nerves required seems to increase as the years go on.
It's not the ride I'm afraid of, it's my imagination. The worst part for me is not the ride
itself, it's the anticipation that kills me. Slowly going up to the start of the ride makes me
want to pay $100 to get them to back it down and let me off. But once the ride is on, I just
deal with it. Here's a larger picture of the MEDUSA
just after we rode it.
It's not just my imagination or anticipation, I also don't trust 'carnies' (Carnival people). I don't
trust some minimum wage guy to keep the ride in tact. So it's not the speed or the high G turns, it's
the worry that a bolt it going to come lose or something. Think I'm crazy? Well as we were leaving
I got a picture of it broken. They had to stop the ride mid way and make
people climb down it.
Of course Bimal wasn't impressed with me and threatened to expose my lack of guts. But, I fully admit
to my wimptitude. But that ride was unusually intense, it took about 20 minutes of walking around until
we regained our balance completely.
The rest of the time we watched the shows. The weather was nice too, slight cool breeze cancelled out the sun
so it was quite temperate. This helped minimize the need for their $3 drinks, though we got nuked on the lunch.
$12 for a sub, gimme a break.
The Bat Man show was pretty cool, some funky stunts. I made this Wide Angle shot
using some software when I got home.
