Welcome to the FIRST annual halloween party of the Bay Area Posse, hosted at FOB HQ in San Ramon (Wahab aka 'Wall' and Razeena's place). This is the first halloween party I've ever gone to, and haven't dressed up in a costume since I was like 12 or something. So when I do something, I gotta go all out. I didn't know what I wanted to be, but it had to be elaborate. It's been my dream for many years to look 100% like a BORG from Star Trek. But I didn't have the time to find the stuff I need to do that.

So I went to various halloween stores buying all kinds of makeup, fake scars, coagulated blood, liquid blood, liquid latex, burn scars, puss, fake skin, etc... Man when you do something this elaborate, you totally appreciate the people at Star Trek and their make up jobs. I first glued down the fake scars, I couldn't get a slit throat to stay on, so I gave up, they only seem to work on flatter surfaces. I was sooo praying this was going to work out, otherwise it would look stupid. My goal was just to look hideous, and parade around as pure evil. So I laboured away putting the liquid latex on me, brush stroke, by brush stroke. I did somethings in the wrong order, I should have put on the patches of fake skin first, then sealed it down with the latex. But as the latext dried up, it became real stiff, and I could barely move my mouth or turn my head. Mainly I was afraid of it starting to peel off. But as the night wore on, I found that I could totally stretch, and the stuff really becomes a party of your body. I also accidently got gold coloured paint, instead of skin colour, to paint over the latex. But that's ok, with all the blood, and scars, it had a good effect when I painted on the black and red colours.

Would you believe it took over 4 HOURS to do this? I had no idea it would take that long. But at work some people were dressed up, and one guy had a car crash victim thing going on, and he only had part of half of his face and shoulder all scarred up, and it took him 1.5 hours, so I judged it would take me about 3 hours... I made a huge mess of my bathroom, blood was everywhere, latex all over the place, make up. That night my mom decided she needed to call me a bunch of times, and I'm like Mommmm....I'm bizeee! My back was killing me as well, standing still for hours on end doing this stuff.

But it was TOTALLY worth it. When I first walked to Wahab's place, I basically had a crowd around me, half didn't recognize me, the other half couldn't believe it was me. It looked so incredibly real. Razeena's neice wouldn't even go near me, and took her a few hours to realize I wasn't a threat. Majid and I (he's dressed with the white skull mask) went to the streets chasing and scaring little kids. Or I'd hobble across the road in front of a car, look into the head lights, and move on...meanwhile Majid sneaks up to the car, and looks right into the window and scares the passenger. It was hilarious! But the East Bay in Northern Cali is totally dead! I don't know if it's too young of a community, or there's that few of people from cultures that aren't down with halloween.

VOILA! The final product. The burning cross in the back just happened to be the real mailbox that was behind me, I just added the flames for the effect. I'm not actually smiling in this picture, the latex just fermented that way. I should have worn a black long sleeve shirt, and also got coloured contacts of pure red, that would have been the icing on the cake. But I just didn't have time to get that happening, plus the budget for this costume already exceeded $70. Now the only problem is, I have to out do myself for next year. I need to find a SERIOUS costume store. I have to investigate the possibilities of plexiglass, my car audio guy was telling me how to shape plexiglass, apparently you just have to warm it up and you can then bend it. That's cool! What to do next year... The Terminator, BORG, Star Wars Imperial Guard.... You'll just have to wait and see. I just want to thank Razeena, "DR" Henna, Wahab, and Majid for the INCREDIBLE amount of effort they put into this. Especially Razeena! You go girl!
